Life Saving
Vigilance & Service since 1928
Arcadian SLSC's volunteer lifesavers patrol the beautiful Alma Bay on Magnetic Island every full weekend and public holiday during the volunteer season, which is mid-September to mid-May. Becoming a volunteer lifesaver gives you an opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends, provide a valuable community service and get out in the sun, sand and surf, all while being a part of the iconic Australian surf life saving movement.

Become a volounteer lifesaver
To become a volunteer lifesaver and take part in patrols at our home beach, Alma Bay on Magnetic Island, you will first need to gain your Bronze Medallion. Our club regularly holds Bronze Medallion courses. Please contact us for information on the next available course.

Surf Sports
Life Saving isn't just about patrolling beaches. There's also a wide range of surf sports you can become involved in, including competing at local carnivals in events such open water swims, beach sprints, flags, and board or ski paddling. Contact the Club to find out more.
